Treatment Options

After a cancer diagnosis, our compassionate healthcare experts are on hand to inform you and your family of the various treatment options available and to help decide which is most appropriate for the patient.

Chemotherapy

With chemotherapy, medicine reaches cancer cells that may have spread throughout the body. Unlike radiation therapy, which focuses on a particular part of the body, chemotherapy enters the bloodstream and circulates throughout.

Radiation treatments

We perform a variety of radiation treatments designed to minimize side effects and provide patients with the maximum quality of treatment. Our specialists administer radiation with the help of computer-driven equipment, which ensures accuracy when targeting a tumor and protects surrounding healthy tissue. The patient lies on a moveable treatment couch, and lasers are used to make sure the patient is in the proper position. This approach allows us to deliver high doses of radiation to the tumor.

The medical center has two linear accelerators, one of which is the TomoTherapy system. TomoTherapy is the latest medical treatment delivery system that uses a CT scan to locate and confirm treatment sites prior to delivery of radiation.

Brachytherapy is an advanced cancer treatment method that delivers radiation internally, close to the tumor, by inserting or implanting a radioactive source into the tumor. This procedure can often be done on an outpatient basis. Brachytherapy may result in faster treatment delivery and shorter hospital time for inpatients.
