Home Away From Home

Home Away From Home is a program that provides sleeping rooms for out-of-town family members of hospital patients. Our facility has nine private rooms, meals, laundry facilities and other services for outpatients and family members requiring an extended stay. While there is not a charge for guests, a $25 donation is welcome.

Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis except for persons with specific reservations. There is a two-room maximum per patient family (4 beds). Reservations are strongly encouraged. If at all possible, please check in between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Guests may check in up to 24 hours before the first scheduled procedure or admission. Guests may remain an additional 24 hours after discharge from Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and/or until released by the physician.

Home Away from Home Wish List

Some families who stay at Home Away From Home won't be able to afford the supplies needed to have a comfortable extended stay. Supply donations are welcome. Below is a list of needs for these families:

• SINGLE-SERVE CONTAINERS & MICROWAVABLE ITEMS
  Spaghetti, ravioli, cup-a-soup, tuna, chicken, ramen noodles, macaroni & cheese, beans & weenies, frozen burritos, applesauce, fruit cups
• PACKAGED FOODS
  Crackers with cheese or peanut butter, granola bars, chips, pretzels, microwave popcorn, dried fruit crisps, cereal, cookies, nuts, breakfast bars
• DRINKS
  Hot chocolate, Crystal Light, lemonade, fruit juices (apple, orange, etc.), milk, teas, coffee (reg. and decaf.)
• TOILETRIES
  Travel size - toothpaste, soaps, hand lotions, shampoos, conditioners, toothbrushes, razors, Kleenex

We also accept cash donations for the use of these rooms. It costs $25 to cover a one-night stay for a family in financial need.
